Job Summary

Most Sacred Heart School is seeking a full-time certified Middle School Math Teacher. This teacher would be responsible for creating a positive and engaging learning environment where students can develop their mathematical skills and knowledge. This includes planning and delivering lessons, assessing student progress, and providing individualized support to students who may be struggling. In addition to teaching math concepts, the middle school math teacher also incorporates Catholic values and teachings into their lessons, helping students to understand the connection between math and their faith.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provides grade appropriate instructional program including:

    • Lesson plan

    • Classroom preparation

    • Assessment of each student's performance.

  • Provides grade appropriate extended or enrichment opportunities.

  • Supervises students.

  • Participates in faculty meeting, school committees, and in-services.

  • Attends other school functions and activities as is necessary.

Job Requirements

  • Must have basic understanding and acceptance of Catholic School philosophy, goals, and objectives.

  • Must have necessary background and training in elementary/secondary education methods and subject areas.

  • Must have understanding of child development and skills necessary to relate to the students being taught.

  • Must have appropriate control and discipline techniques, which will enhance the learning environment.

  • Must work cooperatively with the parish staff.

  • Must have the following education, training, and experience.

    • BA or BS in elementary education.

    • Successful experience in student teaching or classroom teaching

    • Appropriate certification

    • Positive references and recommendations
